Choosing an Indonesian coffee exporter for bulk green coffee
For importers and roasters, choosing a supplier is not only about finding a coffee origin. A useful B2B evaluation also covers lot information, sample workflow, packaging, commercial terms, export documents and communication throughout the shipment process.
1. Start with the required origin and coffee type
Define whether you need Arabica or Robusta and which Indonesian origin fits your buying program. PT Sumatra Jawa Soil currently works across 11 origins covering Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Bali, Flores and the Papua highlands.
2. Ask for lot-specific specifications
General origin profiles are useful for discovery, but commercial buying decisions should use the actual offered lot. Request the available grade, processing method, moisture, defect information, screen information and other quality data relevant to the lot being quoted.
3. Evaluate a sample where practical
Sampling helps buyers compare the offered coffee against the intended roasting or product use before a larger commercial commitment. Request a sample for the origin you are considering.
4. Confirm bulk MOQ and packaging
The current PT Sumatra Jawa Soil green-coffee profile uses an approximate one-container MOQ per origin. Standard green coffee packing is 60 kg jute, with GrainPro available on request. Packaging should be confirmed in the final quotation and shipment plan.
5. Clarify the Incoterm and loading port
For FOB transactions, buyers should confirm the applicable Indonesian loading port and which responsibilities sit with the seller and buyer under the agreed commercial terms. PT Sumatra Jawa Soil currently coordinates FOB shipments from Belawan, Tanjung Priok or Tanjung Perak depending on origin and shipment plan.
6. Review export-document support
The final document set depends on product and destination. It may include commercial documents, customs export processing, Phytosanitary Certificate where applicable and SKA / Certificate of Origin where required. See the Indonesia coffee export documents overview.
7. Use a current quotation rather than an old public price
Coffee pricing can change with origin, lot, market conditions, volume, packaging and shipment requirements. Buyers should therefore request a dated commercial quotation for the actual requirement.
