Roasted coffee wholesale requires a different buying brief from green coffee. In addition to origin and quality, buyers need to define roast level, packaging format, order volume and timing because the coffee is prepared closer to shipment.
1. Select the origin first
Single-origin programs depend on a clearly defined coffee origin. PT Sumatra Jawa Soil currently lists roasted availability for selected Indonesian origins including Gayo, Mandailing, Lampung, Java Preanger, Toraja, Kintamani and Wamena / Baliem.
2. Match roast level to the intended market
Available roast profiles depend on origin. Buyers should state the intended use — for example filter, retail single origin, café house coffee, espresso or milk-based beverages — so the roast discussion can be matched to the product program.
3. Use sample roast approval when needed
For a branded or repeat wholesale program, sample evaluation helps align expectations before the production roast. Request a sample and include the target origin and roast requirement.
4. Confirm packaging and private-label needs
Current roasted formats include retail valve pouches and larger HORECA bags. Private-label packaging and custom artwork can be discussed subject to MOQ and production requirements.
5. Confirm MOQ and lead time
Current commercial terms list a retail-pack MOQ per origin and roast level, with bulk/HORECA supply handled by pallet. Typical roasted lead time is confirmed with the order and shipment schedule.
